Breaking: Ugandan Pastor Aloysius Bugingo Shot in Kampala
KAMPALA – A prominent Ugandan pastor and businessman, Aloysius Bugingo, was shot by unknown assailants on Tuesday night in Mulago, a suburb of Kampala.
According to police sources, Bugingo was on his way home from his office when he was ambushed by gunmen who opened fire at his car. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and no suspects have been arrested so far.
Bugingo is the founder and director of Salt Media Group of Companies, which operates Salt TV and Salt FM radio stations. He is also the leader of the House of Prayer Ministries International, a popular church in Makerere, Kikoni, Kampala, also known as Canaan Land.
Bugingo has a large following in Uganda and abroad and is known for his controversial views on religion and politics. He has been involved in several legal battles with his estranged wife and former associates over the ownership and management of his media and church assets.
