NUP Diaspora Leader Exposes Fabrications Surrounding President Kyagulanyi’s Visit to U.S. State Department
In a recent press release, Dr. Daniel Kawuma, the Diaspora Team Leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), denounced the alleged disinformation campaign against President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, more popularly known as Bobi Wine.
Kawuma dismissed the unfounded allegations circulated by the Ugandan media, presumably manipulated by the ruling Museveni family regime. He refuted claims that President Kyagulanyi exhibited a lack of understanding on critical issues during his visit to the United States Department of State. These false narratives, he argues, are part of an attempt to undermine the credibility of President Kyagulanyi, a noted critic of Museveni’s rule.
“The statement falsely alleges that during President Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi’s visit to the U.S. Department of State, he displayed a lack of understanding on critical issues. This deceitful narrative is nothing more than a feeble attempt to discredit a visionary leader,” stated Dr. Kawuma.
The press release further criticizes the Museveni regime for wasting national wealth on PR exercises aimed at improving its image, rather than focusing on the dire economic needs of the Ugandan population.
Kawuma also emphasized the irony of the regime spending heavily on lobbyists in Washington, D.C., while resorting to online troll farms and paid agents to counteract NUP activities. “Such tactics reveal a regime more concerned with sanitizing its image than with improving the living conditions of Ugandans,” he added.
Dr. Kawuma offered a detailed account of the critical issues that plague Uganda today, including human rights violations, economic hardship, military conflicts, corruption, and inadequate civic infrastructure. He noted that the Museveni regime’s propaganda campaign conveniently overlooked these issues.
“The statement published by agents of the Museveni regime implicitly acknowledges the significant global impact of President Bobi Wine,” Dr. Kawuma asserted. He commended the president’s advocacy, which has led to mounting international pressure on the Museveni regime.
In conclusion, Dr. Kawuma urged the public to critically evaluate the sources of information they encounter and reject the deliberate spread of falsehoods by Museveni loyalists. He reaffirmed President Kyagulanyi’s and NUP’s commitment to addressing Uganda’s challenges through peaceful and democratic means.
