UPDF Soldier Attached to SFC Found Dead, Body Discovered Outside Entebbe Residence

Kasenyi, Entebbe – Local authorities and law enforcement agencies are currently conducting an investigation into the suspicious death of Corporal Henry Madri, a soldier attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC). The lifeless body of the 36-year-old soldier was discovered near a residential property in Kasenyi, Katabi town council.

According to preliminary reports, Corporal Madri was last seen in the company of friends at a local bar in Kasenyi on Sunday night before his body was found abandoned outside a house. The deceased had recently returned from his assignment in Somalia, where he served under the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

Local counselor John Muhiire expressed his deep condolences and described Corporal Madri as a humble individual. He appealed to the community to refrain from engaging in criminal activities and urged for calm during the ongoing investigation.

The circumstances surrounding Corporal Madri’s death remain unclear. The body exhibited minor bloodstains and wounds on the legs, suggesting a possible confrontation leading to his demise. The Chairperson of Kasenyi’s LC1, Robert Mulondo, pointed out that incidents of insecurity in the area have been escalating, partly due to tensions between locals and security forces.

Mulondo disclosed that a meeting had been organized in response to mounting concerns about the security situation in the vicinity. During the gathering, disgruntled residents voiced complaints against security officers, leading to suspicions of potential revenge as a motive for the soldier’s killing.

Law enforcement officials, accompanied by members of the Special Forces Command, visited the crime scene and meticulously documented the evidence. The authorities recovered suspected bloodstains and a pair of grey desert storm shoes. The body has been transferred to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed the incident and divulged that the body was found within an iron sheet structure. Owoyesigyire noted that, apart from blood emanating from the nose, no other visible injuries were observed on the deceased. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
