Hundreds Convert To Faith Of Unity As Bisaka Marks 96 Years
On Thursday, Kagadi District became the centre of an extraordinary spiritual turn as more than 100 international delegates—among them prominent pastors, Muslim sheikhs, traditional healers, and former cocaine traffickers—renounced their former affiliations and publicly embraced the Faith of Unity under the leadership of Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka. The event unfolded during the two-day celebration marking the 96th birthday of Owobusobozi Bisaka at the Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka International Stadium in Kyalubayinga, Muhorro Subcounty.
Delegates from countries including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Germany, South Africa, and Ethiopia united under a single cause, denouncing past religious and spiritual paths in favour of the message of oneness as taught in the Book of Owobusobozi Bisaka. Their testimonies shocked many, with several confessing to having spent years misleading followers or engaging in practices that sowed fear and confusion rather than healing and unity.

Among them was Aduluj Julius, a former pastor from DR Congo who revealed that despite leading over 70 churches across the globe, he had never performed a genuine miracle. “We manipulated people,” he said, “using staged acts and claiming powers that came from dark sources. But today, we have seen the truth and chosen the path of light and unity.” Julius’s confession was echoed by others who stood by his side—many of whom admitted to having previously relied on witchcraft or deceptive spiritual practices.
One of the most symbolic moments of the day came when Jean Adu, a widely feared witch doctor from Ghana’s Bole District, stepped forward to declare his departure from the world of shrines and spells. “For years, I thought I was helping people,” Adu said. “But deep inside, I longed to be free from that life. Today, I am.” His public renunciation marked the end of a career that had once placed him among the most powerful traditional spiritual leaders in northern Ghana.

The celebrations attracted thousands of followers and supporters, with the President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, attending as the chief guest. The president’s presence further underscored the strong links between the Faith of Unity and the National Resistance Movement (NRM), where Owobusobozi Bisaka plays a central role as chief mobilizer.
Owobusobozi Bisaka used the occasion not only to receive the declarations of faith from former pastors, sheikhs, and witch doctors but also to officially inaugurate over 1,100 new members into the Faith of Unity. Addressing the crowd, he urged his followers to focus on hard work, development, and agriculture, and to avoid divisive tendencies. “Unity must begin in action,” he said, “in how we work, how we build our families, and how we serve this nation.”
As part of the day’s program, diocese representatives presented offertories in support of the Faith. The Kakabara Bukwenda Diocese stood out, contributing an impressive 668 million shillings—the highest offering of the day. Other dioceses and faithful also contributed generously, gifting Owobusobozi Bisaka with millions in cash as a sign of gratitude and loyalty.
The gathering was further coloured by moments of prayer, testimony, music, and jubilant chants from believers who view the Faith of Unity not only as a religion but as a transformational movement that restores purpose and order in a world divided by sectarianism and spiritual confusion. With more converts pledging allegiance every year, the teachings of Owobusobozi Bisaka continue to reach across borders, drawing followers from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds, united under one message—oneness.
