Police are investigating the shooting of a UPDF soldier by a Police Field Force Unit officer at Mbarara Police barracks on Friday. Details about the incident are still unclear.
This latest incident adds to the recent surge in gun violence in the country, with at least eight people killed in separate shootings in Kampala and other parts of the country in the past two weeks.
Among the victims were State Minister for Labour, Col (Rtd) Charles Engola, popular vlogger and social media critic Ibrahim Tusuubira, and a private security guard attached to SGA Security Company.
