Heavy Gun fire exchange erups between UPDF and ADF, 2 Arrested.

This morning, UPDF forces exchanged gunfire with Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels in Ntoroko area.

According to Rtd. Major Edwards Mugabirwe of the Ntoroko Resident District Commissioner (RDC), two of the ADF rebels have been apprehended, and an operation to apprehend the remaining three is still underway.

According to Major Mugabirwe, the five ADF rebels were distributed around the district following last week’s attack.

He claims that the final group of five was apprehended at Kyaapa village in Bweramule sub-county as they attempted to cross the river Semliki on their way back to the DR Congo woods. The UPDF has not yet issued a comment about today’s event.

The two ADF rebels apprehended today raise the total number of rebels apprehended during last week’s raid to ten.

During the raid in Ntoroko district, at least 18 insurgents were killed.
