Bobi Wine’s Bodyguard Dumped at Police Station After 32 Days of Alleged Abduction by Security Forces

After 32 days of alleged abduction by security forces, Bobi Wine’s bodyguard was finally dumped at Old Kampala Police Station.

Today afternoon December 7th 2022, Kavuma Jamushid and three other individuals were dropped off at the police station

During their detention, Kavuma reported that he had been shot in the leg.

The bodyguard’s whereabouts were unknown for the entire duration of his abduction, and his family was understandably concerned for his safety. Thankfully, he was eventually released and is safe.

National Unity Platform (NUP) secretary General,David Lewis Rubongoya, has strongly condemned what he termed  as lawlessness and called upon the public to take action to put an end to it.

“It is a relief that Kavuma Jamushid and three others have been released after 32 days of incommunicado detention. However, the fact that they were dumped at Old Kampala Police Station, and that Jamushid was shot through the leg during their abduction, is a cause for grave concern. We must strongly condemn such lawlessness and take action to put an end to it”. The NUP secretary General twitted.

This incident highlights the ongoing human rights abuses that are taking place in Uganda.
