In response to circulating news stories and photos depicting Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi as one of the Ugandan torture victims, the National Unity Platform (NUP) has broken its silence.
NUP has accused the Ugandan government of planting pictures of comedian Eric Omondi and two artistes to write fake stories. This is. This is in a bid to undermine the victims of abduction, rape, torture and murder.
According to NUP, the regime is doing so after facing growing international condemnation over rights abuses

Recently, opposition politicians met in Nairobi, Kenya, demanding accountability from the Kampala establishment about the dozens of people who were killed during the November 18, 2020 riots.
Bobi Wine and Dr Besigye appealed to the international community to join hands with Ugandans in times of loss of lives during political activity. They indicated that their silence could affect the way human rights violations are viewed.
Why should a regime on top of the pain inflicted on Kirya's family for his abduction, then Photoshop and deny his abduction, this is double murder. This action MUST be condemned by the @NUP_Ug and the family of the victim. pic.twitter.com/RTDpCQJaCy
