Yesterday 3rd Nov. the nation was hit with the sad news about the passing on of National Resistance Army (NRA) hero Rtd Col Ahmed Kashilingi whose death details are still scanty.
According to Military and Security history Uganda, Kashillingi (/) was born in Rukungiri district and was one of the senior commanders of the NRA who captured Kampala in 1986.
However, today, 4th Nov. former bush war hero as well as leader of opposition Dr. Kizza Besigye has revealed shocking information about the deceased whom he described as a General that never became.
Dr. Besigye has said that Lt Col A Kashilling for his last years was living a painful life after he was deserted by his comrades & family
“Lt Col A Kashilling, the Gen that never became, has departed. His last years have been very painful- deserted by his comrades & his family! He told me painful stories fairly recently”. Said Besigye.
In his tweet, Dr. Besigye recalled a moment when the deceased travelled on Bodaboda to Nsambya to beg for 50,000/=.
“He came on a Bodaboda to Nsambya, where I was. Most urgently, he needed 50K for medicine! Sad”. Besigye revealed.

Unlike some of the senior commanders, Kashilngi hasn’t played many major roles in the government of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who has been in power now for 37 years.
