Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi has criticized the Ugandan Human Rights body for keeping silent about the alleged thumping of NRM’s Majambere Kamuntu Mpologoma the burial of Jakana Nadduli Suleimani, who was a son to the former Museveni minister Al-Haji Abdul Nadduli.
“Where did the ever noisy “human rights defenders” in Uganda go? How come they are silent about the beating of Mr Majambere, an innocent mourner at the burial of Jakana Nadduli?” Part of Baryomunsi’s statement reads.
Baryomunsi continued to rant and questioned whether NRM supporters have no human rights just like other people belonging to opposition parties.
“Does it mean NRM supporters have no human rights? The goons who beat him up must be brought to book.”. Said Baryomunsi.
According to Police statement, the NUP party activists who were at the burial grounds are responsible for the violent attack and assault on Mpologoma Majjambere, an NRM political activist, who attempted to stop them from politicizing the funeral.
However, some reports indicate when Majambere, allegedly tried to block NUP’s Secretary General David Lewis Lubongoya from delivering the condolence message from his party.
In a recorded video at the scene of violence, a visibly angry Majambere vowed to kill for four Bobi Wine supporters and that’s how they will believe that it has been him working in security torture chambers.
According to police, they have begun a serious manhunt for those who perpetrated violence during the funeral to bring him to book.
