EXPOSED: Here is NUP’s MP that Supported and Signed the controversial Computer Misuse Act Bill that Museveni Signed into a Law.

National Unity Platform members and supporters have woken up shocking news after learning that one of their own penned his signature in support of a controversial Computer Misuse (Amendment) Act 2022 that was recently signed into a law.
On Thursday 13th Oct. President Yoweri Museveni the controversial bill into law that sparked anger among human rights groups and other section of Ugandans, labelling the Bill as one intended to gag the public, and or target certain voices deemed foul-tasting.
The controversial Computer Misuse (Amendment) Act 2022, which was privately moved by Kampala Central member of parliament Hon. Muhammad Nsereko imposes tough penalties for cyber-crimes.
The law provides for unauthorized access to information and prohibits sharing of any information relating to a child without authorization from a parent or guardian. It also prohibits sending or sharing of information that promotes hate speech.
The law bars convicts from holding public office or running for elections in 10 years
The clause reads: “A person who uses social media to publish, distribute or share information, prohibited under the laws of Uganda or using disguised or false identity, commits an offence”.

With such tough penalties, NUP’s opposition party members have been terrified after learning that one of their own Member of Parliament for Kawempe South Hon. Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira asserted his signature to such a controversial bill.
According to reports and documents circulating on social media, it clear shows Kazibwe’s signature on the bill something that has angered his electorates.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the Kawempe South MP fell out with the NUP principal, and that he’s now leaning on NRM’s ruling government.
