Ugandans have been drawn into mixed reactions following President Museveni’s letter hiring a senior presidential envoy for on indigenous cattle in Uganda.
According to a letter dated 31st July 2022 purportedly written by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, he appoints Dr Nassan Tandekwore as the Senior Presidential Advisor on Indigenous cattle allocating him a whooping 15million Uganda shillings salary.
“By copy of this letter, again, I designate Ambassador Dr. Rashid Semuddu as Special Envoy to Qatar and I appoint Dr. Nassan Tandekwiire as Senior Presidential Advisor on Indigenous cattle with a salary — personal to holder of shs. 15 million,”. Museveni instructs
However, Museveni’s appointment of an envoy for indigenous cattle has received a rough reception among Ugandans and opinion leaders referring to it as an act of abuse of the state.
Solomon Serwanjja, former NBS investigative journalist has termed the appointment of Presidential Advisor on Indigenous cattle as an which is simply unacceptable.
“President Kaguta Museveni appoints a presidential advisor on indigenous cattle with a salary of 15m. Wawooo. Just wawoooo. Your excellency, this is unacceptable”. Solomon tweeted
Daniel Lutaya, a Ugandan journalist also regrets why he spent so many years studying journalism yet he could an effortless 15M rearing cows.
“Kale, I wasted my time studying journalism yet I could earn a cool 15M rearing local cows”- Lutaya tweeted.
